BIRCH BAY, Wash. — We recently reported that a suspect was at large after fleeing from deputies in a vehicle pursuit in Birch Bay earlier this month.
A spokesperson for the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office tells KGMI that deputies received a report January 25 that the suspect, Kevyn A. Johannesson, was incarcerated in North Dakota.
On January 12, Johannesson was involved in a high-speed vehicle pursuit after a deputy attempted to stop him near Arnie and Blaine roads.
A woman jumped out of the vehicle, at which point the deputy stopped the pursuit to help with her minor injuries.
An investigation determined that Johannesson had held her in the vehicle against her will.
