FERNDALE, Wash. — Heavy rain is significantly impacting driving conditions throughout the county.
Whatcom County Maintenance and Operations will close Slater Road to all traffic between the Ferndale City limits at the BNSF railroad crossing and Ferndale Road by 4 p.m. today due to water over the roadway.
The county is reporting that East Hemmi Road east of Hannegan Road is also closed because of water over the road.
Several roads throughout the county are impacted by water or debris and drivers are urged to use extreme caution.
