OTTAWA, Canada — Those who travel to Canada by air will have to isolate at hotels to await the result of a coronavirus test starting February 22.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made the announcement as part of stricter restrictions on air travelers in response to new, likely more contagious variants of the virus.
Government officials say that prior to their trip, non essential air travelers will be required to reserve a 3-night stay in an authorized hotel in Canada.
The measures will especially affect Canadian “snowbirds” who winter abroad and return home in the spring.
