MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — With just six weeks to go, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival plans to forge ahead under COVID-19 guidelines.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports much remains up in the air, but it’s certain that the 2021 event will look very different than pre-COVID era festivals.
Growers Roozengaarde and Tulip Town plan to open their tulip fields to the public at reduced capacity, and will likely require advance online reservations and tickets.
Some of the events normally taking place during the festival will be held in modified format while others have been cancelled for a second year.
In a normal year, an estimated 400,000 attend the festival, which runs April 1-30.
