SEATTLE, Wash. — An undercover investigation revealed three Whatcom County men distributed thousands of potentially deadly fentanyl pills.
The U.S Department of Justice announced 21-year-old Jaime Hernandez of Ferndale, 23-year-old Gorge Ortiz of Lynden and 51-year-old Stanley Stubbs of Bellingham were arrested on an indictment Tuesday charging a conspiracy to distribute fentanyl in Whatcom County between September 2020 and January 2021.
Over the course of the investigation, law enforcement has seized more than 5,000 fentanyl pills as well as several pounds of heroin and methamphetamine.
The three defendants made their initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Seattle Tuesday.
