OLYMPIA, Wash. — The unemployment rolls continue to gradually decline in Washington State.
Employment Security reported under 12,000 first time claims for the week of March 6th.
That’s the lowest weekly total since the national pandemic state of emergency was declared in mid-March of last year.
Total claims also continued their slow decline that began in January.
About 454,000 persons are still getting unemployment payments from the state, down by over two thirds compared to the high last May, but still many multiples above pre-andemic levels.
