CASHMERE, Wash. — A familiar northwest candy won’t be on the shelves anymore later this year.
After 101 years in business, the maker of Applets and Cotlets has announced plans to close June 1.
Liberty Orchards President Greg Taylor told the Seattle Times the company was put on the market three years ago and no buyer was found.
Taylor said buyers showing interest last spring walked away from talks as they focused on managing their own businesses amid the pandemic.
