SEATTLE, Wash. — U.S. Marshals are still looking for an escaped murderer who passed through Whatcom County and Bellingham last October.
Roderick Muchikekwanape escaped from a Canadian prison on October 29th and was spotted in Sumas the next day.
He received a ride to Bellingham where he stopped at a Chevron gas station and asked where to catch a bus.
Marshals have record of him taking a Skagit Transit bus to Mount Vernon and another to Everett.
The 42-year-old was convicted of a brutal sexual assault and murder in Winnipeg in 1998.
He is an indigenous Canadian who may claim to be a member of an American tribe, and he may use other aliases.
A reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
