BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The number of county residents fully vaccinated against COVID-19 continues to climb.
A Whatcom County Health department report released yesterday showed the number had increased to more than one-in-eight.
But, the reported supply of first doses to the county dropped by more half for this week, compared to the week prior.
This as the timeline for individuals in Phase 1B Tiers 3 and 4 to become eligible for vaccination has been moved up to next Wednesday, March 31.
Those tiers add groups including anyone with two or more underlying CDC-defined health conditions; all persons aged 60 to 64; plus the homeless, inmates, and group home residents.
Statewide, nearly half of all persons 65 and over are fully vaccinated based on reporting through last Saturday.
