MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — The City of Mount Vernon is looking for feedback on their fireworks policies.

Under current codes, the city allows the use of so-called “safe and sane” fireworks — the type sold in stands within city limits — one day each year, July 4th, from noon to midnight.

A survey published by the city is asking for citizen feedback on the possibility of expanding the allowed dates for fireworks or further restricting their use.

The seven-question survey will help guide the decisions of the city’s fireworks committee, which in turn will make recommendations to the mayor and City Council.

The survey will be available through the afternoon of April 12th.
