WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. — An attempted slow lane pass resulted in the death of an Island County woman Wednesday.
The State Patrol says 44-year old Joey L Glendenning was heading south and going too fast on Highway 20 near Winterhawk Lane on Whidbey Island before noon Wednesday.
Troopers say she tried to pass a slow moving vehicle in the slow lane, then attempted to merge back left and crossed the center line, hitting a truck driven by a Sequim man head on.
Glenndenning was taken to WhidbeyHealth Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
The passenger in her Kia SUV, 18 year old Lacy A McCrawshirron, was not injured.
