WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Investigators are calling the death of a man found on Semiahmoo Parkway in Blaine Wednesday a homicide.

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office reports the 67-year-old man from South Whidbey Island suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

His body was discovered Wednesday afternoon in the 9200 block of Semiahmoo Parkway.

A Ford Econoline van that is believed to have belonged to the victim was found abandoned in Fairhaven early on Thursday.

Anyone who saw anything unusual on Semiahmoo Parkway between 2:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, or who saw the van in Whatcom County between 4:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, is asked to contact the sheriff’s office.

The victim’s name is has not been released pending notification of his family.
