A moment of bipartisanship in Olympia at the end of this year’s session.
Last week, the House concurred on Senate changes to HB1168, a bill to reduce wildfires and improve long term forest health.
The measure provides a half billion dollars of funding over the next 8 years.
Democrat Larry Springer, the bill’s prime sponsor says, “It improves our ability to actually suppress and attack wildfire when they do break out, [and] it helps communities threatened by wildfire to be more resilient.”
It passed both chambers unanimously and was sent to Governor Inslee for his signature.
