A local childcare provider is among 66 small businesses statewide to receive financial assistance from a partnership between Comcast and the state’s LGBTQ and allied chamber of commerce.
A Step Ahead Bilingual Learning Center of Bellingham was awarded a $2,500 Ready for Business Grant intended to support the state’s small businesses, especially those owned by diverse entrepreneurs who are at greater risk due to the uncertain economy.
Originally launched last year, the fund was expanded to support small businesses statewide this year.
The expansion also focused on providing support for qualifying small businesses located in rural areas of the state who have been impacted by the pandemic.
