MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — The motorcyclist who died in a Wednesday Skagit County crash we told you about Thursday has now been identified.
The State Patrol reports 37-year-old Blake B. Messer of Mount Vernon was southbound on Hwy 9 near Triple Creek Lane north of McMurray at 10 pm.
Troopers say he was speeding and lost control.
He left the road and struck a tree.
Messer was wearing a helmet but was pronounced dead at the scene.
