WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Almost half of Whatcom County’s residents have now been at least partially vaccinated against the coronavirus, but not all communities are getting the shot at the same rate.
New data from the local health department breaks down vaccination rates by school district.
The Nooksack Valley District has the lowest vaccination rate at 28.5% while the Mount Baker distict is just a bit better at 29.1%
Lynden is next with 36.4%, followed by Ferndale at 40.7% and Meridian 46.8%.
Almost half of the residents of the Blaine District have gotten the shot at 49.2% and Bellingham leads the way with 60.3%.
Almost 75% of Whatcom resident 65+ have gotten at least one shot while the 25-49 age group comes in second at just over 60%
Women are leading men in getting their first shot at 53-46%.
