State health officials have given new guidance for wearing masks once fully vaccinated.

Washington Secretary of Health Dr. Umair Shah tweeted yesterday that his key message is that fully vaccinated people do not need to wear masks in most situations.

Shah added that the public should respect the rules of the room you’re in as counties and businesses can make their own rules about masking, so requirements will vary.

Kids who cannot be vaccinated yet need to keep wearing masks, Shah said, and noted that adults may want to model behavior for them.

Shah concluded by saying that getting kids and communities vaccinated now means a safer, more normal summer.
