State Troopers arrested a man after he led them on a short chase on I-5 north of Bellingham early Thursday.
Trooper Rocky Oliphant says a driver was clocked going over 100 miles per hour in a construction zone without license plates on the car.
The driver tried to elude the trooper and crashed with the car ending up on its side at the Slater Road off-ramp.
The driver fled on foot, leaving three passengers in the car which had been stolen.
A K-9 unit was called in and helped locate 35-year-old Brian J. Quintana nearby.
He was booked on a number of charges including illegal possession of a firearm after a gun was found in the car.
