LUMMI ISLAND, Wash. — A large sinkhole has caused a road closure on Lummi Island.
Due to the sinkhole, West Shore Drive is closed at the 2300 block and will remain closed until further notice.
Whatcom County Public Works says the issue is largely below the pavement and the majority of the problem can’t be seen from the surface.
Public Works is evaluating the sinkhole to determine its cause and how it will initiate a repair.
