OLYMPIA, Wash. – The state Department of Health says it’s looking into reports of heart conditions appearing among a small number of recently vaccinated people.

The conditions involve inflamation of the heart tissue or the membrane surrounding the heart.

Symptoms include chest pain, abnormal heartbeat and shortness of breath.

The department says more investigation needs to be done to see if there’s any connection between the conditions and COVID-19 vaccines.

It’s working with federal, state and local health officials and health care providers.
