Drivers traveling on Interstate 5 between Skagit and Snohomish counties should plan for several nightly lane closures this week as crews prepare for a full, long-term closure of the southbound Stillaguamish River bridge.
This week contractor crews from Southern Road & Bridge, LLC, working for the WSDOT will close up to two lanes in each direction of I-5 overnight to restripe the roadway and install barriers in preparation for the full southbound bridge closure scheduled for the week of June 21.
This work is part of a $5.3 million project, and will continue into the Fall 2021.
Lane Closure Schedule:
- Monday, June 14 through Tuesday, June 15 one left southbound lane will be closed nightly 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
- Monday, June 14 through Tuesday, June 15 a second southbound left lane will be closed nightly 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
- Wednesday, June 16, one right northbound lane will be closed overnight from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
- Wednesday, June 16, a second northbound lane will be closed overnight from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
- Wednesday, June 16, two left northbound lanes will be closed overnight from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.
- Wednesday, June 16 through Thursday, June 17 one right southbound lane will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
- Thursday, June 17, two left northbound lanes will be closed overnight from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
