One of Bellingham’s finest retires

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — One of Bellingham’s finest has retired.

Bellingham Police Deputy Chief Scott Grunhurd was celebrated Wednesday at his retirement ceremony.

Grunhurd, an avid Cougar fan, wore his Cougar tie and was honored with a cake decorated in crimson and gray.

Even the department’s die-hard Husky fans couldn’t resist the Cougar cake.

Some of BPD’s recent retirees attended the ceremony, including Deputy Chief Duane Schenck.
