WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Whatcom County reached the target COVID-19 vaccination rate yesterday.
The county hit the State goal of 70 percent of residents 16 and older getting at least one shot and is the fourth county in Washington to reach that mark.
Whatcom County Executive Satpal Sidhu thanked the county’s healthcare workers who’ve given over 224,000 doses, businesses who offered to serve as clinics, and all the volunteers who helped out.
More than 136,000 resident age 12 and up have received at least one shot, but the Health Department is urging everyone eligible to get the vaccine to protect against new variants and protect the vulnerable population.
The vaccines are widely available in Whatcom County.
