OTTAWA, Canada – The Canadian border will likely be reopening to U.S. travelers this summer.

Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau indicated yesterday (Thursday) that that fully-vaccinated US citizens and permanent residents could be welcomed into Canada for non-essential travel in mid-August.

Trudeau also said if Canada’s current positive path of vaccination rate and public health conditions contine, Canada would be in a position to welcome fully-vaccinated travelers from all countries by September.

The Prime Minister noted that Canada continues to lead G20 countries in vaccination rates with approximately 80 per cent of eligible Canadians vaccinated with their first dose and over 50 per cent of eligible Canadians fully vaccinated.
