Canada will begin allowing fully vaccinated U.S. citizens into Canada on August 9th.

Canada’s borders will open to the rest of the world on September 7th.

Canadian officials say that the 14-day quarantine requirement will be waived for eligible travelers who have received a full course of a COVID-19 vaccine approved for use in Canada.

Travelers will have to prove they’ve been vaccinated through the ArriveCAN app and also be tested at the border.

Unvaccinated children under age 12 will be allowed in with a fully vaccinated parent or guardian.

The app allows travelers to enter their information and ensure they are cleared to enter Canada.

Travelers must input their information within three days before they plan to go to Canada, and will receive a receipt from the app that must be shown at the border.

Americans will need to provide contact information and travel-related information, as well as upload their vaccination information and documentation if asked to do so.

Those arriving by water are not required to use the app but are encouraged to do so.

Public Safety Minister Bill Blair said Monday that they haven’t yet determined when Canadians will be allowed to cross the land border into the U.S.

Any Canadian can currently fly into the United States.
