SUMAS, Wash. – A man was killed Saturday while working at a Whatcom County manufacturer of roofing and other materials.

The Bellingham Herald reports the man was pressure washing a tank used to make asphalt at IKO Pacific in Sumas when he became trapped in machinery in the tank.

A company spokesperson says the man in his 40’s was a contractor.

He hasn’t been identified and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
