As the tech industry continues to boom across the country, Washington has ranked among the top five states for tech salaries.

In business.org’s 2021 Tech Salaries Report, Washington State received the highest ratings for average hourly wage and average salary, with an average of 83% higher pay than other occupations, second only to Alabama with 85%.

The Seattle and Mt. Vernon areas alone ranked among the top 10 metro areas for tech workers in the country.

Business.org reports Washington’s ranked above other states primarily due to high job density and a high annual median wage.

The report draws on statistics from the Bureau of Labor Industries.
