Do to the shortage, the Whatcom County Auditor’s Office and six licensing subagents will have to issue temporary paper permits until they get more plates from the Department of Licensing.
The shortage will impact motorcycle and passenger vehicle licensing in Whatcom County, but truck and trailer licensing shouldn’t be impacted.
The paper plates are valid for 60 days and should be displayed the same way as temporary dealer plates.
