BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Summertime means travel time, and recreational vehicles on the move.

Whatcom County Public Works reminds ferry riders that if you drive a recreational vehicle, bus or motorhome, your vehicle’s far is calculated based on total length, including anything hanging off the vehicle, such as trainers, tow hitches or a bike rack.

Unsure if your vehicle is considered recreational?

Check the vehicle’s registration — if it calls the vehicle a bus, recreational vehicle, travel trailer or similar classification, the recreational vehicle policy applies.

Fares for drivers and any passengers is charged separately using the pedestrian rate.

Ferry fares can be found here.
