BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A fire heavily damaged a home near downtown Bellingham Monday morning.
A fire department spokesman says a couch on the porch of the house at Billy Frank Junior and Chestnut Streets was engulfed in flames when fire fighters arrived just after 11 a.m.
He says there were people in the home but everyone got out safely.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
