SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – An indoor mask mandate has returned to one county in Western Washington.

Snohomish County’s health officer has announced the return of an indoor masking mandate for all residents age 5 and older whether or not they’ve been vaccinated.

He says the move is necessary after the county’s COVID-19 cases doubled in the past three weeks.

Everyone over age 5 will have to wear a mask inside retail and grocery stores, government buildings and any other public, indoor spaces.

The rule taking effect Thursday, August 12th does not apply to outdoor spaces, but the health officer encourages people to wear masks outside as well.
