Western Washington University’s Dr.”Butch” Kamena has been awarded the Faculty Mentor Award.
Kamena has been a member of the WWU athletic staff for over three decades and has commited to helping student-athletes succeed on the fields and in the classroom.
He has served as an academic advisor for the last 19 years and also has spent the last 30 years assiting the Vikings sports information department.
The award singled out Kamena’s work with Western Washington student-athletes during the COVID-19 pandemic.
