OLYMPIA, Wash. – Health officials around the state are sounding the alarm over large gatherings as COVID-19 cases continue to rise.
They warn about private events like weddings but public gatherings are also a concern.
Over 200 people who attended a recent music festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre, including some Whatcom County residents, have tested positive.
PeaceHealth St. Joseph Hospital said this week that it’s currently treating 37 people with COVID, a record for the hospital during the entire pandemic.
No additional masking or other mandates have been announced, but Governor Jay Inslee will hold a news conference focusing on the rise in cases Wednesday afternoon.
