SEATTLE, Wash. – Another airline is requiring new hires to get their COVID shots.
Alaska Airlines announced early Thursday, September 2nd, that all new employees for Alaska and Horizon must be fully vaccinated by their first day of work.
The airline hasn’t implemented a full vaccine mandate for its current workers, but did create a new policy for those who haven’t been vaccinated against the virus.
Any unvaccinated employee that needs to quarantine will not be paid while they’re in quarantine and must take part in a vaccine education program.
Employees who are vaccinated will receive a $200 payment.
KOMO reports 75 percent of Alaska Airlines employees are vaccinated at this point.
