BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A driver lost control of his pick-up on I-5 Tuesday night, went off the Lakeway overpass and crashed onto the street below.
The State Patrol reports the 39-year-old man from Arizona was driving north when he missed the curve to the right and drifted into the guard rail in the median.
It failed to stop the truck and it went off the overpass and landed on its side on Lakeway Drive.
The man was trapped and seriously injured.
He was taken to PeaceHealth St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Bellingham and then transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Troopers say there was no evidence that the driver was impaired.
