OLYMPIA, Wash. – Governor Jay Inslee says he’s encouraged by what he calls “sky-high” vaccination rates among state workers.

And he says he expects the current vaccination rate of almost 92% to go higher ahead of Monday’s deadline.

That’s when more than 60,000 state workers will have to show they’re fully vaccinated to keep their jobs.

KING 5 reports the rate was just over 49% a month ago.

Some state agencies are making contingency plans, though, as about 5,000 employees have yet to show they’re vaccinated.
