BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Bright colors will now light up Bellingham’s night sky.
The Port recently installed a stage and color-changing lights that will illuminate the massive digester tanks on the city’s waterfront.
The tanks glowed a deep blue last night in celebration of the Seattle Kraken’s first win.
They’ll soon shine orange for Halloween and, of course, red and green for the Christmas season.
The new stage is located on the grass lawn next to the pop-up container village housing local businesses, and was made possible by a donation from Peter Paulsen, the original owner of the Hotel Bellwether.

The improvements are part of the Port’s effort to invite the community down to the waterfront while improving safety and security in the area.
