OLYMPIA, Wash. – The state commission that regulates doctors and physicians’ assistant licenses has taken action against a provider for prescribing ivermectin to treat COVID-19.

The Washington Medical Commission has suspended the license of Clark County physician’s assistant Scott C. Miller.

It alleges that he fell below the standard of care for prescribing the drug without evidence from clinical studies that it’s effective against COVID-19.

The commission also says he engaged in public campaigns promoting ivermectin and against hospitals and doctors over their treatment of COVID-19 patients.

Miller has 20 days to respond to the charges that include other allegations.

The commission stresses in a release that there are multiple licensed “Scott Millers” in Washington and this case only involved Scott Christopher Miller of Clark County.
