BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A man who was recently charged for assaulting a nurse at Bellingham’s hospital has also been arraigned for a separate random attack on a woman.
Charging documents say Michael Yrizarris was standing near a woman at the Dairy Queen on Cordata Parkway on October 4th when he suddenly began repeatedly punching her in the face.
Staff and patrons came to the woman’s aid as the suspect fled.
Officers located Yrizarris nearby and witnesses identified him as the man who attacked the woman.
He said “voices” told him to hit the woman, whom he didn’t know.
She suffered lasting effects from the attack.
Yrizarris is also accused of sexually touching a nurse a PeaceHealth St. Joseph’s Medical Center as she cared for him the day after this assault.
