OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Washington State Patrol says as of yesterday, Monday, October 18th, 127 individuals had “separated from employment” due to the state’s COVID vaccine mandate.
That includes 74 commissioned officers; 67 troopers, six sergeants and one captain.
State Patrol Chief John Baptiste says they’ll all be missed and will always be respected for the work they’ve done during their careers.
He’s also praising all the individuals who elected to get the vaccine and stay on with the agency.
WSP employs around 2,200 people in eight districts around the state.
Monday was the deadline for state employees to provide proof of vaccination or face separation from employment.
