WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Gusty winds and heavy rain slammed into the West Coast over the weekend.

While Whatcom County did see some downed branches, it’s thousands of Seattle-area residents that are still without power this morning.

Two people were killed in the Seattle suburb of Preston, after a tree crushed the car they were riding in.

Wind gusts topping 60 mph also downed trees on I-90.

In Oregon, about 25,000 customers lost power in Portland and the northwest part of the state.

The National Weather Service says a high wind advisory will remain in effect until midnight tonight, Monday, October 25th, in western Whatcom and Skagit Counties.
