WASHINGTON PASS, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Transportation has announced a formal closing date for a portion of the North Cascades Highway.
This year’s closure is scheduled for November 15th, but could be closed earlier if weather conditions deteriorate.
The roughly 40-mile stretch of State Route 20 is closed during winter months.
WSDOT said setting a date this year will help travelers plan their trips ahead of time.
In the meantime, crews will be on the roadway to prepare for the closure.
