BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The latest count of Whatcom County ballots finds no changes in position but one contest has tightened.
Bellingham Initiative Number 1 is still being rejected but by a narrowing margin.
Just under 51% of the votes are now against it and just over 49% are yes votes.
The measure would regulate rental agreements and require landlords to pay renters’ relocation costs in some cases.
The county auditor’s office will release another count at about 5 p.m. today, Friday, November 5th.
You can find full election results on the Whatcom County website.
