BELLINGHAM, Wash. – For those curious as to when passenger trains will roll back into Bellingham, Amtrak says they’re working on it.

Service from Seattle to Vancouver, with stops in Bellingham, Mount Vernon and Edmonds, has been suspended since the start of the pandemic.

Amtrak said on their website that all routes that cross into Canada will resume shortly after the border reopens on Monday, November 8th.

Travelers looking to get onto the non-suspended portion of the route, also known as the Amtrak Cascades, have had to take a bus from Bellingham to Seattle.

Other routes that have been on pause include Montreal and Toronto-bound trains on the East Coast.

They say they’ll announce exact dates for restoration of service soon.
