SEATTLE, Wash. – Federal prosecutors in Seattle are celebrating the indictment of 16 people connected to a multi-state methamphetamine and fentanyl distribution ring.
U.S. Attorney Nick Brown said in a statement the drugs were being sold in at least six Washington counties after being brought in from California and the sales were fueling illegal firearm purchases to be transported to Mexico.
Since the investigation started in early 2020, officials have seized over 120 pounds of meth and 20,000 fentanyl pills.
The leaders of the drug ring, 33-year-old Jose Maldonado-Ramirez and his fiancé, 30-year-old Iris Amador-Garcia, were arrested on October 28th.
