WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – If you’re heading to the woods for a hike this Thursday, you’re in luck.

The U.S. Forest Service is waiving day-use fees in Washington and Oregon in honor of Veterans Day.

November 11th will be a fee-free day for veterans, their families, and anyone else who wants to get in some quality outdoor time.

The waiver includes picnic areas, boat launches, trailheads and visitor centers.
