WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – A Customs and Border Patrol employee is now in custody after being accused of raping a woman earlier this year.

Court documents state that officers met with the victim at Peacehealth St Joseph’s Hospital on August 4th.

The victim said that she had met 52-year-old John Elmore through a dating app a few weeks prior and had gone on a date with him the day before the assault.

Investigators say that the Elmore contacted the victim, asking her to meet him at his home on July 31st.

While at the home, the victim said that Elmore choked her to the point of unconsciousness during a sexual act.

The victim told officers she was too scared to tell him to stop.

Elmore was taken into custody Thursday, November 18th, and now faces a second-degree rape charge.
