OLYMPIA, Wash. – Republican State Senator Keith Wagoner says he plans to challenge newly appointed Democratic Secretary of State Steve Hobbs in next year’s election.
Hobbs was sworn into office November 22nd following his appointment by Governor Jay Inslee to replace Republican Kim Wyman.
He became the first Democrat to hold the job since 1965.
Wagoner will challenge Hobbs in the November 2022 election, which will determine who serves the remaining two years of Wyman’s four-year term.
