MOUNT BAKER SKI AREA, Wash. – With cooler temperatures rain has turned to snow in the high country.

The Mount Baker Ski Area has seen a good amount of snow in recent days but a video posted on their website Monday says they’re not quite ready to open.

“As soon as we get enough snow on the ground to make a reasonable go of it, we’ll let you know. Thanks, everybody. See you soon.”

The forecast for the ski area calls for a couple of feet of new snow through this weekend.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the Cascades and travelers should be prepared for winter driving conditions over the passes.
