OLYMPIA, Wash. – People who missed the deadline to sign up for health insurance through the state exchange have another chance.
The window to sign up for coverage that begins on January 1st through Washington’s HealthPlanFinder closed Wednesday, December 16th.
But people who still need coverage have until January 15th to sign up for a plan that begins on February 1st.
The exchange’s chief executive says a record 226,000 have signed up for coverage in the new year, including 22,000 new customers.
Seventy percent of those who enroll through the exchange receive subsidies that offset some of the cost of premiums.
